What is a password protected and encrypted USB Flash Drive, and what would I use it for?

These USB flash drives offer secure data backup and secure data  transfer between machines not otherwise connected by a network. You simply add your files to the USB drive and read them back on another machine or the same machine for backup purposes.

The data is encrypted/decrypted on the fly, so if the USB drive is lost or stolen no one without your password can access this data. It it totally scrambled and secure. Do not confuse these drives with drives that just offer password protection as on those drives data can be accessed using readily available tools that will bypass any password. If the password is bypassed on these drives all that would be available is a total scrambled mess that could not be put together. In fact these drives use the same encryption as the USA Military use for top secret information.

The drives themselves are portable between any machine running windows 2000, 2003, XP or Vista as the drives contain the software used to do the encryption and decryption and set and manage the password.
